HGI - Home Gateway Initiative
HGI is shaping the way that services are delivered in the digital home. HGI was founded in 2004 by major Broadband Service Providers (BSPs), and has since been joined by leading manufacturers of digital home devices, chips, and software. A key current priority of the HGI is to specify the architecture, technical functionality, and test requirements for a flexible Smart Home service delivery platform. A key element in this work is the definition of SWEX - Software Execution Environment, and the specific definition of an OSGi based SWEX. Makewave's product Knopflerfish Pro is fulfilling the requirements of SWEX and Knopflerfish Pro has successfully passed the HGI test events.
