Open Source: Knopflerfish
Knopflerfish (KF)
is a spin-off project from the days back when Makewave was known as
Gatespace and was one of the pioneering members of the OSGi
Alliance. During a reorganization of Gatespace in the spring of 2003
it was decided to open source Gatespace's OSGi framework GDSP. The
Knopflerfish organization was founded and the code from GDSP was
donated to Knopflerfish. Erik Wistrand was elected president and he
lead the work in transforming the closed source GDSP into an open
source Knopflerfish distribution. Makewave is currently the primary
maintainer and sponsor of the Knopflerfish project and has several
developers assigned to develop and maintain the Knopflerfish OSGi
distribution.
