Product: Knopflerfish Pro CVIS

Knopflerfish Pro CVIS is a Knopflerfish Pro extended edition, purpose built for the CVIS - Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure Systems. The CVIS project uses the Knopflerfish OSGi Service Platform as execution environment for in-vehicle, as well as, road-side gateways.

The CVIS project has defined an open ITS architecture where a fundamental framework (OSGi) provides a rich set of core facilities such as communication and positioning (implemented as OSGi services). ITS applications will execute in this framework and make use of the core facilities to perform their tasks. By using the OSGi framework there is automatically a clear cut between the application layer and the lower physical implementation layers (e.g. a CALM radio layer). The result of CVIS is an integrated, open platform that can host virtually any application desired. CVIS has effectively created the ITS Application Store.

Knopflerfish Pro CVIS contains the core parts of the CVIS framework, including the Application Manager, the end-user HMI for the ITS Application Store. Ubicore is the server-side component that runs the ITS Application Store.

For Application development there is an SDK available.
